In 2007, artist Yan Lei was invited by an Italian gallery in Rome, Italy to realize a site-specific installation. Yan Lei used a small corridor in the gallery exhibition where he positioned a big photo lit by a light on the back of the work by artist Bruna Esposito that had previously been shown in the same space. Position the photo in the middle, the effect was actually as it was installed on the back of the space giving thus the audience a visual illusion of space, as Bruna Esposito's work was still there. And a joke like actually created big in the arts circle of Rome. The artist, whilst working on his piece, didn’t respect the authority of works previously created by other artists, thus he raised a big controversy on issues such as ownership of artworks. This is a very peculiar characteristic of artist Yan Lei who often raise infinite arguments and issues.
